I really like the band, Arcade Fire. Recently I heard they were coming to play in Chicago. I looked into the ticket price; expensive. The concert times; late. Staying overnight in Chicago; a must. As an overall excursion it added up to an amount of money I didn’t have after my obligitory expenses. So I did not go to see Arcade Fire.
I get sick of hearing the politicos talk about how much money the government spends and borrows, particularly when both major parties are clearly responsible for nutty behavior.
Just like I made a choice between Arcade Fire or paying my bills at home they have to make a choice. By their own admission they don’t have enough money to be buying tickets to Iraq and Afganistan. So don’t be going there. Pay the bills at home. Give up the delusions and wants. Take care of what the country needs.
And don’t tell me the two situations are different. They’re not.
